Enzo (Michael Malarkey) was one of the toughest and most surprising deaths (of many) during the final season of The Vampire Diaries. He was killed at the hands of “ripper" Stefan. Luckily, his girlfriend could talk to ghosts so they could still spend their lives together.

When season 8 of Blue Bloods returned, the Raegan family revealed a huge twist: Linda had been killed in a helicopter crash, so fans didn't get the chance to say goodbye. Actress Amy Carlson later revealed that her contract was up and she had decided to move on from the CBS show.

Bob (Sean Astin) is officially the new Barb! During season 2 of Stranger Things, Joyce's awkward, yet lovable, boyfriend was killed by a demo-dog after saving the group.

As if the entire series wasn't dark enough, the finale of Bates Motel featured Norman (Freddie Highmore) going so mad that he forced his brother to shoot him, putting him out of his misery for once and for all.

This wasn't a great loss, but it was still pretty shocking. At the end of Big Little Lies, Perry (Alexander Skarsgård) fell to his death while dressed as Elvis.

Gone but never forgotten. Topher (Ken Leung) was fired from the hosptial in the season 3 finale and that meant the end. During season 4, he was never shown, but the doctors found out via phone call he had gotten killed in an accident.

Most of the time on The Walking Dead, we're mourning people. This time, it's all about the animals. King Ezekiel's tiger saved his life this season, in turn getting eaten alive by walkers.

Alright it wasn't just Shiva. Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) died during the season 7 finale after taking Eugene's poison pill. When Negan tried to use her against her own people, she had already turned into a walker.
