Another day, another unlikely food combo! Heinz threw its Twitter followers for a loop at the start of April when the U.K.-based Heinz Mayo Twitter account shared a brief video clip featuring an unusual new product.

“Heinz Creme Egg Mayo. Yep. It’s a thing,” the tweet read, alongside an 8-second clip of a bottle of mayo and Cadbury Creme Eggs melding together to create a condiment infused with small bits of the sweet Easter staple.

Given that the tweet was shared on April 1, many social media users assumed the famous ketchup and sauce brand had devised a rather clever April Fools’ Day prank, but it turns out this sugary take on the sandwich topping is absolutely the real deal.

“We weren’t kidding, Heinz Creme Egg Mayo is a thing!” read a Tuesday, April 2, tweet from Heinz Mayo. “Who wants to try it? OF COURSE YOU DO! Come and see us at Ely’s Yard, Truman Brewery in London from 11th-13th April for free samples of this crazy combo.”

The tweet adds that the new mayo will only be available “until stocks last,” so if you’re a U.K. resident with a hankering for a savory-meets-sweet topping, you better act quickly! Unfortunately for other curious consumers, there are no current plans to put this food on supermarket shelves.

Not surprisingly, social media reactions to this holiday food item indicated people were a tad confused. “Don’t think this will work in my tuna sandwich,” declared one Twitter user. Added another: “Someone needs to have a word with your taste testers. They’ve lost the plot!”

However, for some, this unique combo proved to be pretty darn fascinating. “Part of me is disgusted. Another part is intrigued to try it,” commented one social media user. “Shame I’m not down in London then.” Another declared that she would “definitely” try the food.

Employees at U.K. site The Stylist tasted the English creation and shared that it was surprisingly bland but sweet. Many also noted it smells strongly of mayonnaise, because that’s what it is, after all. One employee revealed he was “neither disgusted nor overwhelmed by the taste of it.” Another said that while she was “confused” by the mixture at first, she wound up liking it, explaining, “I noticed myself adding more and more to my crumpet which must mean, to my own surprise, I’m a fan.”
