Chance the Rapper is a man of many talents! The Chicago native, 25, who is known for hits such as “No Problem” and “Summer Friends,” will soon star in a horror movie about a series of pizza-related murders.
The flick, Slice, was actually filmed more than two years ago and was initially slated for a theatrical release in 2017, but now Variety confirms the movie is coming to theaters across the country for one night only, on Monday, September 10.
Written and directed by Austin Vesely, Slice tells the story of a pizza delivery driver murdered on the job in a mysterious city, and the city’s quest to figure out who is to blame for the ensuing killing spree of pizza delivery boys. Chance, who makes his acting debut in this movie, plays Dax Lycander, a disgraced “werewolf who is a former Chinese food delivery driver.”
On Tuesday, September 4, Chance took to Twitter to share how excited he is about the movie’s upcoming release. “One more week til this thing drop. Chicago world premiere MONDAY,” the Grammy winner wrote. “Austin we’re all so proud of you, it was an honor being apart of your dream.”
Slice also stars Zazie Beetz, Paul Scheer, Joe Keery and comedian Hannibal Buress.
According to A24, the distributor of the film, screenings will be held simultaneously in Austin, Texas; Atlanta; Boston; Brooklyn; Charlotte, North Carolina; Chicago; Dallas; Denver; Detroit; Houston; Los Angeles; Miami Beach; Milwaukee; Nashville, Tennessee; Philadelphia; Portland, Oregon; Raleigh, North Carolina; San Francisco; Seattle; St. Louis; and Washington, D.C.
