If you thought 2024 was the year of Sabrina Carpenter, I’ve got some news for you — the singer is just getting started. The 25-year-old Espresso songstress recently won two Grammys and unveiled that she’s gracing the cover of Vogue’s March issue. For the feature, she ditches her signature bouncy bangs and instead channels both Marilyn Monroe and Madonna with glamorous platinum strands.

While the color is a stark change, I haven’t been able to get over the va-va-volume of Carpenter’s hair in the spread. According to her hairstylist Evanie Frausto, that lift was achieved using the Redken Root Lifter Volumizing Spray Foam. The key is to apply this foam to damp hair to the crown of your head before blow drying to enhance body and volume. The result? Old Hollywood volume that gives me total hair envy. If you want, you can also curl large sections with a 3/4″ iron to really bring the full look to life. (That’s what Frausto did on Carpenter.)

You may be wondering what on earth a volumizing foam is, and I don’t blame you — there are not many products like Redken’s formula on the market. Consider it volumizing mousse’s easier-to-use cousin. With mousse, it’s easy to go overboard and end up with a crunchy style. The lightweight texture of this foam enhances volume while feeling totally weightless. No hard spots, no greasy feeling, just pure lift.

I have yet to get my hands on a bottle, but over 3,500 Amazon shoppers swear by the root-lifting formula. “My hair is really flat at the top, and I’ve tried many volumizing products over the years, but this one stands out,” one reviewer wrote. “From the first application, I noticed a significant difference in my hair’s volume. The lightweight foam is easy to apply directly to the roots, where it gives incredible lift without weighing my hair down. It creates a full-bodied look that lasts all day. As someone with fine hair, I love that it doesn’t leave any residue or make my hair feel heavy. It also provides great anti-frizz benefits, keeping my hair smooth and polished, even on humid days. Scent is good, too!”

If you’ve been too nervous to use mousse, this foam won’t let you down. Between the price point, weightlessness and voluminous results, your hair is sure to look bouncier than ever. And let’s be real, anything that Sabrina Carpenter uses has to be amazing. It’s time to grab yourself a bottle!
