Lucifer is a fantasy series that aired on Fox for three seasons from 2016 to 2018. Netflix picked it up for three more seasons, which aired from 2019 to 2021.

The series follows Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), an alternate version of the DC Comics character. Lucifer abandons Hell to run a nightclub in Los Angeles. He finds himself involved in a murder investigation with the Los Angeles Police Department where he meets detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German). Intrigued by her immunity to his supernatural charms, the two work together solving crimes and encountering supernatural beings while developing a relationship.

Other characters include Detective Daniel “Dan” Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro), Lucifer’s older brother Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside), demon Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt), Chloe and Dan’s daughter Beatrice “Trixie” Espinoza (Scarlett Esteves) and psychotherapist Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris).

Lucifer received an Emmy Award nomination for choreography in 2021.
