NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers is happily married to someone who prefers to stay out of the spotlight — but he says that hasn’t always been the case with women he’s dated.

In a wide-ranging conversation, Rodgers, 42, spoke to friend Pat McAfee of ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show about his ex-girlfriends and he did not hold back.

“I dealt with clinically bipolar. I dealt with depressed relevance-seeking,” Rodgers said during the Wednesday, March 4 show. “I dealt with people that wanted to search out other possibilities before they could commit to me and then they go on TV talking about how I ruined their lives and all this s***. I just want to say, ‘Move on with your life. Stop lying about me. Just move on with your life and be happy.’”

Rogers continued, “I was with individuals who called the paparazzi, who talked about where I was living, who coerced me into making the proverbial Instagram and social media posts. I never really wanted to live a public life.”

Rodgers did not name names, but prior to marrying his wife, Brittani, he had plenty of high-profile relationships. Rodgers was engaged to actress Shailene Woodley from 2021 to 2022 and dated former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick from 2017 to 2020.

Since she and Rodgers split, the outspoken Patrick, 43, has been candid about their relationship and breakup, telling friend and podcast host Sage Steele that it was her most painful experience. (Rodgers did not connect his comments on Wednesday to Patrick.)

“It was sudden [and] it felt like it was my life,” she recalled during a May 2025 appearance on the “Sage Steele Show” podcast. “You know, when you live with somebody and it’s, like, your whole life. It’s your dentist appointment, it’s your hairdo, it’s your clothes, it’s your mailing address. It’s, like, everything.”

She also alleged that the “nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive” and “wore [her] down to nothing.”

“Someone that people could never imagine that I would lack any confidence or belief in the simple things about who I am. Yeah, everything was down to bits,” Patrick continued. “He leaves a trail of blood. I don’t think I’m saying too much earth-shattering stuff after there’s been enough out there. [The breakup] gave me the greatest gift, which was myself. I was, like, ‘Wow.’ It gave me the greatest gift of how much I needed to show up for myself and take care of myself.”

Before Patrick, Rodgers had a three-year relationship with actress Olivia Munn from 2014 to 2017. He has also been linked to Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kelly Rohrbach and Mallory Edens, daughter of Milwaukee Bucks owner Wes Edens.
