Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has big plans for retirement alongside his mysterious wife, Brittani.
Rodgers, 42, spoke to Adam Schein of SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio in an interview that will air in full on Tuesday, September 8. In it, he was asked what he hopes to be doing after he concluded what is believed to be his final year in the NFL.
“I’m hopefully going to be supporting my pregnant wife because we’re going to start a family and I am not going to be making a lot of appearances or statements,” he said in a preview shared via X on Friday, September 4. “And I’m looking forward to a life of quiet after 22 years in the pros and three in college and getting my body healed up and working on a family. That’s what I’m looking forward to.”
Rodgers clarified that Brittani is not currently pregnant, he simply hopes she will be by next year.
“I’m talking about I’m hoping that I have a pregnant wife by next [year] this time,” he reiterated.
Rodgers’ final season in the NFL comes after a summer in which he reconciled with his side of the family. He shared a carousel of photos in July with his parents, Darla and Ed, and older brother, Luke Rodgers. (Aaron’s younger brother, Jordan Rodgers, was notably absent from the reunion.)
“I’m having a lot of fun being Uncle Aaron,” he continued. “I mean, I have a few godkids that I’m involved with, but being Uncle Aaron to my brother’s kids has been a lot of fun. And the more I’m around them, the more I get excited and so does the wife about having some of our own.”
Aaron and Brittani got married during the 2025 offseason, but little is known about her and Aaron has made it clear that he wants to keep his personal life private. Though Aaron admitted that Brittani was instrumental in his decision to return to football in 2026, he is looking forward to finally hanging it up.
“I can’t wait for that next chapter of life and all that that entails, and sleepless nights and crying babies and changing diapers and all those things,” he said. “I’m looking forward to all of it.”
Fans just shouldn’t expect to hear much from Rodgers once he’s living dad life. After sharing photos of his family reconciliation, Aaron said he would never give the public a peek into his personal life again.
“There’s been a narrative out there. There’s not been a lot of information that’s truthful about it,” he said. “And I think that the personal life should stay personal and private. But I feel like it was part of the full-circle to just one time post something, and never again. So that that narrative can finally be put to rest.”
