The mother of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts asked for continued support after her son’s blood clot diagnosis.

“Prayers work, prayers work. Keep praying,” Pamela Hurts said in a TikTok video posted on Tuesday, October 20. “Keep praising God. Keep lifting his name up. Keep the faith, keep believing.”

Jalen, 28, was diagnosed with multiple blood clots in his lungs, the team announced on Monday, October 19. The quarterback will likely miss the rest of the 2026 season.

Pamela broke her silence about her son’s diagnosis in a separate TikTok video posted on Monday.

“Just a reminder, y’all. Be grateful,” she said. “Be grateful for where you are and what you have because your life could change at a blink of an eye. Be grateful. What are you grateful for?”

Pamela captioned the video, “Things could always be worse…”

“Jalen’s prognosis is very good, and we expect a full recovery,” the Eagles said on Monday. “We anticipate that he will have the opportunity to resume contact football activities when he is off blood thinners. In the meantime, he will remain active around the team and continue to condition. More importantly, we anticipate that he will have no long-term effects.”

The quarterback was initially diagnosed with a superficial blood clot in his calf after being “cleated” in a game against the Los Angeles Rams on October 4.

Jalen’s initial diagnosis came while the Eagles were in London to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on October 11. In spite of the team being aware of the clot in his leg, he was still cleared to play in the game.

After returning home, it was discovered that the clot had traveled from his leg to his lungs.

The NFL has reportedly decided not to punish the Eagles for the way the team dealt with Hurts’ diagnosis, with sources telling The Athletic and the Associated Press on Tuesday that the situation “was handled appropriately.”

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni defended the chain of events during a press conference on Monday.

“The same doctors and trainers that helped 21 of our 22 starters be available in the Super Bowl are the same guys today that deeply care about our guys, to help them,” Sirianni, 45, said.

The head coach added, “I don’t want to speak for him in any sense of the matter, but I deeply.”

Philadelphia and backup quarterback Tanner McKee host the Dallas Cowboys on Monday, October 26, looking to break a four-game losing streak.
