Kai Trump gushed about the support of Tiger Woods, who has been dating her mother, Vanessa Trump, since late 2024.
“He’s inspired me a lot,” Kai, 19, exclusively told Us Weekly on the red carpet of the 2026 ESPYS in New York City on Wednesday, July 15. “Just to be a better person, better golfer, and stuff like that.”
Kai made her LPGA debut in November 2025 and will compete on the University of Miami golf team as a freshman when the 2026-27 season opens in the fall.
When it comes to the best piece of advice Woods, 50, has given her, Kai said, “Just keep on being you and just live life.”
“He’s amazing,” Kai added.
Kai, the granddaughter of President Trump, said increased curiosity about her personal life has been “interesting.”
“Everything has its balance,” she told Us. “I just like to stay true to myself and just keep on living my life like a normal teenager, to be honest.”
Kai added, “I hang out with my friends. I know I live a very, very private life, and that’s kind of how I balance it all. I get to go to amazing events like this today, but then I’m gonna go home and hang out with my friends and just do normal people stuff.”
As for Woods, he returned to the United States in May after completing more than a month in a Switzerland rehab center.
The 15-time major champion was arrested on March 27 and charged with DUI, property damage and refusal to submit a lawful [urine] test after being involved in a rollover car accident near his Florida home.
Woods pleaded not guilty to all charges and was granted permission to attend rehab outside of the country after his lawyer, Dennis Duncan, wrote to a judge that Woods had an “urgent need for a level of care that cannot safely or effectively be done within the United States.”
“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today,” Woods said in a statement on March 31. “I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.”
He continued, “I’ve committed to taking the time needed to return in a healthier, stronger, and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”
