Lindsey Vonn is skiing into a new romance with French alpine ski racer Matthieu Bailet!
The champion skier, 41, hard-launched her relationship via Instagram on Wednesday, September 23, sharing steamy photos of her and Bailet, 30, on vacation over the summer.
“About that time for a summer recap… pt 1❤️,” Vonn captioned a series of photos capturing her summer, including several snaps of Bailet.
In one, a bikini-clad Vonn can be seen kissing Bailet in a swimming pool, while in another the couple lounged in the sea.
“Can’t wait to see the summer recap part 2 😉😘,” Bailet commented on Vonn’s Instagram post.
Bailet also reshared Vonn’s post to his own Instagram Stories, rather appropriately setting it to the tune of Olivia Dean’s hit song “So Easy (To Fall in Love).”
Bailey, from Nice, France, has competed in the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup every year since 2016, when he made his debut at age 19.
Vonn, meanwhile, has been documenting her recovery after a horrific crash while skiing during the 2026 Winter Olympics in February.
The skier crashed just 13 seconds into the women’s downhill event in Italy and was airlifted to a hospital. She underwent emergency surgery for a complex tibia fracture. The athlete also tore her ACL just a week before the event.
“I still have another surgery, so I’m trying to get as strong as possible,” Vonn updated TNT Sports on her recovery at the US Open in August. “And once I get my ACL, then I’ll have another long road ahead of me. But for now, I feel great, and I’m very thankful for that.”
She continued, “I’m hoping that I can have the [ACL] surgery in November, but it’ll be in the winter sometime, and then it’ll be another nine months until I’m fully recovered from that, so I can’t really look beyond that. I don’t really know what the future holds, but like I said, I’m just thankful for where I am right now.”
In July, Vonn revealed that her ankle was still broken five months after the crash.
“It’s been a very slow process. It’s been five months since I’ve been able to actually go to the gym in a somewhat meaningful way. And walking is actually still really hard for me. My ankle is still broken,” Vonn told People at the ESPYs.
“I was in a wheelchair for so long. I was on crutches for so long,” she added. “It was honestly almost three and a half months that I was unable to walk unassisted. I got very emotional when I was able to walk on my own.”
