WWE’s Cody Rhodes Jokes About the ‘Worst Part’ of Being a Girl Dad After Welcoming 2nd Daughter (Exclusive)

WWE star Cody Rhodes has learned that being a girl dad is a whole other game to tackle.

“The best part, I think, is also the worst part in a sense that you are confronted by a complete lack of knowledge of what you’re supposed to be doing,” Rhodes, 40, exclusively shared with Us Weekly at the Disney Upfronts on Tuesday, May 12. “I think it’s probably a bit easier if you’re a boy and you were rough-and-tumble to raise another boy, but in this case, it’s a whole new world. No pun intended that we’re at the Disney Upfronts.”

Cody and his wife, Brandi Rhodes, welcomed daughter Liberty in June 2021. Last August, the couple expanded their family with the arrival of baby Leilani.

“It’s all the things that you weren’t a fan of growing up, and now all of a sudden, you’re plugged into them,” Cody joked to Us at North Javits in New York City. “But that, for me, is the best part more than it is the worst part because you get to learn as you go.”

While it’s far too early to tell what his daughters’ passions will be, Cody realized that there may come a day when they want to explore wrestling. If that’s the case, he has a winning strategy.

“I would say the same thing my dad said, which was cool. ‘You can go into it, but you have to be the best,’” Cody recalled. “And that’s easier said than done, but I think they could certainly do it, those two.”

For now, Cody’s daughters can experience WWE on the small screen after the professional wrestling promotion company partnered with ESPN.

In August 2025, news broke that ESPN would become the exclusive U.S. home for all WWE Premium Live Events, including WrestleMania, Royal Rumble and SummerSlam.

“Right now is probably the greatest time to jump on as a pro wrestling fan,” Cody said. “So far, our first WrestleMania on ESPN is in the books, and it’s only getting better.”

The same could be said for Cody’s fatherhood journey. After honoring his wife on Mother’s Day in Atlanta, the wrestler is ready to experience Father’s Day in just a few short weeks.

“My daughter Liberty is 4, and she’s a big sense of occasion, a big events person,” he told Us. “I’m hoping there’s some sort of big event wrapped around Father’s Day that would make me feel very nice. But the fact that they’re healthy, intelligent, lovely, the best little warrior princesses you could ask for, that’s all I need.”
