The wife of Sacramento Kings guard Zach LaVine has weighed in on the viral hot mic discussion caught during the team’s media day on Monday, September 28.
“A great start to the season!” Hunter LaVine wrote via Instagram under a clip of the moment.
The video stems from a livestreamed press conference at Kings media day. While reporters were waiting for the next group of players to take the dais, multiple beat reporters could be heard discussing the attractiveness of certain players.
One called Zach, 31, “Hella fine.”
Another responded, “I mean, his personality annoys the s*** out of me, so that’s what makes him less fine.”
“Zach is cute, but his personality f***ing annoys me. He just seems like he’s hella, like a prick,” a third said, adding, “He’s beautiful.”
Unfettered, Hunter posted the video to her Instagram Story, and on the next slide, shared a picture of her husband, captioned, “I love my husband’s personality.”
The Kings reporters also weighed in on star Ben Simmons, whom one writer called “cringe.”
“Lucky he’s so fine,” someone else replied.
“He is a good looking dude,” the first reporter responded, adding that Simmons, 30, has’ “smooth” skin.
“His skin is so smooth I was like, ‘damn, no tattoos,’” she said.
The reporters then discussed if they should compile a list of the “finest” players before debating whether Simmons or Zach would be ranked higher.
“They’re about the same age but Ben looks way younger,” one opined.
The reporters’ identities have not been revealed as of Wednesday, September 30.
Simmons is not married, so he does not have a wife to swoop in and defend him on social media. Hunter, however, frequently posts tributes to her husband and the three kids they share.
“Happy 30th and 1st birthday to my big baby and my second baby 🎂🥳🥂,’ she wrote via Instagram the day after Zach’s 30th birthday last year, alongside a photo of him and their middle child, son Elijah. Zach and Hunter married in 2022 and also share son Saint, 4, and daughter Alaia, 19 months.
Hunter continued, “To my husband, my rock, and my best friend — celebrating you is easy and doing life with you is a blessing.”
“To my sweet baby boy, Elijah— I can hardly believe you’re already one!” she added. “You’ve filled our hearts with so much love and joy. I love you more than words can say, my sunshine!!☀️☀️☀️.”
