Congratulations are in order! Angela Kinsey announced that she and her longtime boyfriend, Joshua Snyder, are engaged on Thursday, August 4, via Instagram, complete with a photo of her stunning — and very unique — engagement ring.
Surrounded by the couple’s three children from previous relationships, the Office alum, 45, accepted a dainty ring featuring an emerald center stone set horizontally into a yellow-gold band.

How did Kinsey’s actor love pop the question? The actress explained in an Instagram post: “#tbt to earlier this week. We were going out to dinner and my daughter said that first she wanted to show me the fort in the backyard that she and my boyfriend’s sons had been working on. She led me outside and there was a blanket by the pool and she said I had to sit on it. His sons brought me flowers and then he came around the corner with a ring. He had called my mom and asked for her blessing…that would have made my Dad so happy. He proposed and I said yes.”

The Half Magic actress also revealed the special meaning behind her ring’s vibrant green stone. “The ring is an emerald [because it’s] all three of our kids’ birthstone,” she wrote. “The kids made me cards and pictures and I cried. I cried that happy ugly cry. ❤️ #gonnagethitched”

Nondiamond engagement rings are quickly becoming a trend in Hollywood. Johanna Braddy received a sapphire from her now-fiancé, Freddie Stroma, in May. And Eva Longoria has been happily rocking a ruby ring since her now-husband, Jose “Pepe” Baston, proposed in Dubai in December. The couple wed in Mexico in May.
Kinsey was previously married to Warren Lieberstein, with whom she shares 8-year-old daughter Isabelle (who was part of her mom’s special day).
