Hollywood Royalty and the British Monarchy have a major designer in common: Ralph & Russo. One of the veritable queens of Tinseltown, Angelina Jolie was spotted in London wearing one of the designers of choice for the Duchess of Sussex, undoubtedly a major fashion moment.
Jolie attended the the Service of commemoration and Dedication of St. Paul’s Cathedral on Thursday, June 28, marking the 200th anniversary of the Most Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George, an honor awarded to men and women who render extraordinary non-military service in a foreign country. And what does one wear to a formal event but a designer that’s fit for actual royalty. And Jolie has rocked the label on many red carpets in the last few years so she’s no stranger to the label.
The actress and director picked a striking and elegant draped boatneck dove gray sheath dress, and naturally donned a matching fascinator and similarly hued satin gloves, pumps and a clutch for the staid occasion, fitting right in with dignitaries and royals, such as Prince Edward, alike.
But not only to Jolie and Markle have Ralph & Russo in common, they also favor similarly cut clothes: the Duchess of Sussex favors boatneck cuts and sleek sheaths, a look that the A-lister also employs quite often. Which begs the question: which Hollywood megastar will copy the newly-minted Duchess’ style next?
Markle famously wore the British couturier in her official engagement photos with Prince Harry, and the design house was rumored to be her wedding gown designer up until she stepped out of the Rolls Royce on the way to the chapel thanks to a late-night spotting of the designers working in their offices. OF course, we know that the Duchess chose to sport Givenchy for her big day, but we predict we’ll be seeing her in Ralph & Russo again soon.
