The switch-up has finally come!

Ariana Grande pulled a huge surprise, ditching her longstanding flipped-up ponytail for the MTV European Music Awards on Sunday, Nov. 9, in Glasgow, Scotland. The breakout pop act, 21, traded in her signature hairstyle for a mature and sleek 'do, which complemented her sultry makeup look.

Not only did Grande ditch the tween-inspired hair, she also gave her fashion game a boost in a sexy navy gown with huge side cutouts and sheer detailing on the red carpet.

The chart-topping singer had no issues translating her grown-up look to the stage, as she slipped into a light grey bustier with matching hot pants, paired with thigh-high black suede boots to perform "Problem" and "Break Free."

Big Sean's girlfriend remained sexy throughout the night, accepting the award for Best Female Artist in a black lace bra top, paired with a satin skirt with a lace overlay and shiny black pumps.

Grande's consistent ponytails were used to conceal the hair damage she incurred from Sam & Cat

"I had to bleach my hair and dye it every other week for the first four years of playing Cat… as one would assume, that completely destroyed my hair," she explained on Instagram in January 2014. “My real hair is back to brown and I wear extensions, but I wear it in a ponytail because my actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when I let it down.”
