Nothing beats a guy in a suit, unless it’s two guys in three-piece suits.
Both Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, stars of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, attended the movie’s New York premiere wearing coordinating vests, blazers and slacks.
Affleck, 43, donned a deep-emerald Gucci suit and vest, which he paired with a black tie, Christian Louboutin dress shoes and black and gold Montblanc cuff links.
To help prep for the role, the Good Will Hunting actor sought advice from the most recent Bruce Wayne: Christian Bale. “I ran into him at a costume shop when we were both buying costumes for our kids and we talked,” Affleck told Us. “He said, ‘Make sure they put a zipper in the suit.'”
And Cavill, 32, wore a similar style but in charcoal gray. The Man From U.N.C.L.E. actor also accessorized with a skinny black tie and added a little extra flair with a pocket square.
Though the film centers on a rivalry between the two superheroes, Affleck, who plays Batman, and Cavill, who plays Superman, hugged it out for a long time at the premiere afterparty, an onlooker tells Us Weekly.
Despite turning heads on the red carpet, Cavill actually went unnoticed in Times Square on Wednesday, March 16. He stood beneath a giant poster for the flick, wearing a Superman tee, and no one recognized him. In a video of the event posted to Facebook, Cavill wrote, “Dear Doubter, The glasses are good enough. Regards, Superman.”
