Celebrities were more daring than ever with their hair this year, trying out two very bold tress trends in particular.
The "It" hair color, without a doubt, was red, with several stars including Blake Lively and Drew Barrymore rocking the fiery shade.
"I think [Blake] is having a lot of fun!" Rona O'Connor, celebrity color expert and beauty tastemaker on ThisNext.com, told Us Weekly about dyeing the star's hair in June. "She has gotten a chance to make a new statement and feel a little different. In this case it was for a character, which has helped her feel more in the role. I think she looks absolutely beautiful!"
Besides being better off red, celebs also traded in long locks for short styles. Brooklyn Decker, Jennifer Aniston and Vanessa Hudgens were among the A-listers who got scissor happy this year.
"Oh man, it's really intense — I'm still getting used to it," Hudgens told Access Hollywood in July about cutting her hair into a pixie for her role in Gimme Shelter. "Honestly, I kind of feel like a soccer mom. There's nothing wrong with soccer moms, but I'm only 22! I miss [my hair,] believe me, I do, but there's nothing I can do about it."
And Katy Perry takes the cake for the most hair changes in 2011. From red to blonde to lavender to pink, the singer pretty much has rocked every color in the rainbow.
