Wigging out! Bethenny Frankel made Us do a major double-take as she attended the launch of Skinnygirl Candy in NYC on Tuesday, January 26.
At first glance, the bold crimson color appeared to be an actual dye job, complete with darker roots that matched her natural color.
But the Real Housewives of New York star herself revealed that she was simply testing the bold look. "It's a wig," Frankel, 45, told Us Weekly of the dramatic color change. "I had been wanting to [go red] and then today was such a great excuse."
The angular style, which ends just below her shoulders in the front and barely grazes the bottom of her neck in the back, is quite the change from the tousled chin-length bob she debuted in May 2015. "A gentleman named Tokyo [Stylez, the same guy who's responsible for Kylie Jenner's colorful locks] … made it for me. He's lovely,” Frankel told Us.
Stylez's wigs start around $675 and can skyrocket into the thousands, he revealed to Allure.
The former talk show host and mom to Bryn, 5, admitted that she chose the color purposefully. "It's Skinnygirl red!" she explained.
What do you think of Bethenny's temporary color change?
