Well, they are a little bolder in Europe!
Albanian pop star Bleona jetted to Los Angeles to attend the 2014 American Music Awards on Sunday, Nov. 23—and she packed one extremely bold look in her suitcase.
Perhaps channeling Miley Cyrus at the 2013 Met Gala or Rose McGowan's infamous 1998 VMAs dress, Bleona, 29, kept no secrets when she stepped onto the red carpet in a completely sheer netted dress, bedazzled with rhinestones. Covering the essentials, the Euros of Hollywood star added a white thong and silver pasties.
Though Bleona is best known across seas, the pop singer and actress does say that she reminds many fans one very American icon: Madonna. "People often compare me to [Madonna] because of the level determination, style of music, my high-energy live performances, and the influential personality," Bleona told The Dish blog.
Bleona was best known as a child star, she says—until she hit the stage in blue leather pants at an Albanian music festival in 1996. "People went crazy! I wasn't anymore the cute little kid—I was now famous for being rebellious," the singer, who's worked with Timbaland in the past, said. "Critics thought I was completely out of line and started calling me crazy, just like that 'Madonna of America.'"
