Caitlyn Jenner may consider herself a novice manicurist, but if you ask Us Weekly, her efforts are turning out well. In a new social media video posted on Thursday, July 9, the 65-year-old former Olympian asks users for feedback on her latest polish color choice.
“Still getting the hang of this," she captioned the short WhoSay video, where she re-polished her chipped left index finger with a sky blue polish.
Response to her manicure was overwhelmingly positive, with many women chiming in with manicure tips. "It matches your skin tone perfectly," commented one user. "Looks really pretty," added another.
Introducing her new self to the world via the July cover of Vanity Fair, Jenner has felt pressure while primping in recent weeks. "You go through all this stuff and you start learning kind of the pressure that women are under all the time about their appearance," she said in a teaser promo for her E! docuseries, I Am Cait. "I never had, until a couple of weeks ago, actually a professional come in and do my makeup. What a difference!" While she may pay a little extra to have her makeup professionally done, manicures are a DIY must for Jenner.
During a chat with Diane Sawyer, Jenner said her wish was to "be able to have my nail polish on long enough that it actually chips off."
Fans worldwide were struck by her statement, and sparked a social media movement called #PaintYourNailsForBruce to show their support.
"I feel such a responsibility to this courageous group to try to get it right and tell all sides of the story," Jenner revealed earlier this month in a WhoSay editorial. "To me, that's always the biggest question: am I doing it right?"
