Choosing a weekend of outfits for a festival can be a daunting task … especially if you wait until the last minute. But fear not: Coachella 2016 weekend one attendees Camilla Belle and Kiernan Shipka are here to help. At the Levi’s Haus Pool Party at the Avalon Hotel Palm Springs held on April 16, the fly girls talked to Us Weekly about pulling together eleventh-hour outfits for the rest of the year’s big-ticket events, such as Governors Ball and Made in America. Get those Instagram likes, girl!
For starters, be like Belle and carry a light load. “I bring a small bag with a long strap so I don’t have to worry about holding anything,” said the model, 29. “You can balance your sweatshirt on it too. I usually carry ChapStick, a cellphone and a mirror. And water at all times.”
Another major key for Coachella includes a handkerchief “in case of sandstorm,” she explained. But across the board, Belle believes that accessories trump all when it comes to coordinating festival-appropriate looks.
“Start with a great pair of jean shorts,” the American Side star said. “And maybe a new top. Wear pieces from home that you know you like on yourself. But buy accessories instead of basics.”
Shipka lets her location act as a determining factor for how she styles herself. “Dress up for the venue,” the 16-year-old Mad Men actress advised. “Have fun with your style.” And leave the heels at home. “Prioritize comfort,” she suggested. “Do the sneakers!”
