Capes are trending — big!
Just when it seemed like capes on the red carpet reached levels of over saturation, Solange Knowles extends its wear time with three epic looks during her wedding weekend. The stylish singer and DJ, 28, changed into three daring cape ensembles for her New Orleans nuptials to director Alan Ferguson on Sunday, Nov. 16. Take notes on the revived style from Knowles and other celebs.
Solange Goes Cape-Crazy
The bride got draped by designer Humberto Leon for Kenzo in a fuss-free ivory wedding gown on Sunday, Nov. 16. Embellished extras came courtesy of her fluffed out 'fro, a set of shiny gold arm cuffs by Jill for Lady Grey, and bright red lipstick.
The happy bride donned another creative cape in the form of a cream jumpsuit with a cleavage-baring neckline by Stephane Rolland. Sporting one final look to wrap up the festivities, Knowles wore another Stephane Rolland jumpsuit with a dramatic cape attachment. The key to each look? Confidence and perfect tailoring.
Knowles made a statement with her cape looks, but she's obviously not the first celeb to try the trend. Lupita Nyong'o set the 2014 Golden Globe Awards red carpet ablaze in an elegant red off-the-shoulder option by Ralph Lauren.
An elegantly styled Cameron Diaz gave her electric blue Stella McCartney custom cape gown some edge via a belt with dangerous gold spikes for the 2013 Met Gala.
Gwyneth Paltrow made the trend her own in a white Tom Ford dress, which hugged her fit frame for the Academy Awards in 2012.
