Chris Appleton’s dreams came true after giving Britney Spears a magical hair moment.
“As a kid growing up in England, Britney Spears was the soundtrack to so many moments,” Appleton, 42, wrote alongside a selfie with Spears, 44, shared via Instagram on Monday, June 1. “Never in a million years did I think I’d one day be standing behind the chair (or in this case her standing behind mine, lol) styling her hair.”
Appleton styled Spears’ blonde locks with a sleek straight style that framed her face. The pop star posed for the selfie with her tongue out as she held the hairstylist’s tools.
“Some moments really do come full circle,” Appleton continued. “She is not only an icon, but one of the most genuinely kind and gentle souls I’ve ever met.”
Several fans of Appleton and Spears flocked to the comments section gushing about how great the Grammy winner looked.
“She looks so good 🙌🏽🥰,” one user wrote while another replied, “Britney looks so amazing !!! 🔥.”
Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause, who is also a friend of Appleton, gushed, “This is what the world needs 🙌👑🙏🏼.”
Kim Kardashian, who is also pals and a client of Appleton, commented two pink heart emojis.
Appleton — who is the go-to hair professional for stars like Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Jennifer Lopez and more — previously shared that Spears was his dream client. Nearly one year ago, Appleton posted an Instagram Reel after a fan commented he should work with Spears at some point in future.
“I’d be so down to do Britney,” he said in the clip. “But, you know, if I was going to do her hair, it wouldn’t be just a little touch-up thing. It would have to be a whole revamp. I feel like she’s been through enough, and she deserves some big major comeback hair. We love Britney Spears.”
Appleton showed off that he was wearing a T-shirt with Spears on it at the time. In the post’s caption, Appleton shared that he was ready to make it happen — as long as Spears was game.
“I accept – how do we get Britney on this?” he wrote.
Appleton is one of the most well-known hairstylists for the stars. Earlier this year, the hair professional shared that his services can cost a pretty penny.
“Like 100K, but that was to travel and stuff,” he said of the most he’s ever charged a client during a January appearance “U Up?” podcast. “That was a whole situation.”
Appleton explained that he was “charged everything, from $100 back in the day” to six figures. He added that his more expensive services are typically “a one-off” and not very common.
