For The Voice's first live show of season 3, sole female mentor Christina Aguilera wanted "something fun and rock and roll" — and that's exactly what the five-time Grammy Award winner got!
The "Your Body" singer's hairstylist, Mark Townsend, began by adding "some strawberry highlights to red red tipped hair," he explains on her official website. He then added "a large dollop" of Dove Style + Care Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream mousse to damp and diffuse her hair "to get lots of volume and shine" while also "giving it really cool texture."
Townsend then took large sections of Aguilera's hair and wrapped it around a one-inch curling iron for a few seconds. After parting her hair to the side, he teased the top for extra volume. "To add some fun to her hair, I braided the whole right side of her hair into several twists, so the pink color would show in the front," Townsend explains.
Makeup artist Kristofer Buckle says Aguilera, 31, "wanted a blue eye" and "requested a hot pink look" to stand out on camera. Her stylist, Simone Harouche, dressed her in Frankie B star printed jeans, a Chaser tee and Nasty Gal motorcycle jacket. She completed her look with earrings, a necklace and a pendant from Roseark and a white gold diamond arrowhead from Loree Rodkin.
