Hef’s son had jetted overseas to Byrne’s birthplace to ask her father for her hand in marriage prior to getting down on one knee with a massive yellow diamond. After the 24-year-old Harry Potter actress said yes, the families celebrated their happy news — Cooper even brought his grandma along for the trip!
Wearing a pink dress, the bride-to-be happily clutched her soon-to-be groom while celebrating at the Ritz hotel.
Cooper’s famous dad Hef tweeted the happy couple congrats on Thursday, writing: “Sending love and congratulations to my son Cooper and his fiancee Scarlett on their engagement!”
“My parents kept us sheltered from adulthood like any other parent does,” Cooper, whose mom is Hef’s second wife, Kimberley Conrad, told Business Insider about growing up in the Playboy Mansion. “We were kept away from the parties while we were younger.”
“It’s funny because it’s such an iconic place and obviously the whole world probably sees it as one thing which this a mecca for orgies,” he added of the mansion’s famed pool the grotto. “But the reality is, for me, it’s always represented this Indiana Jones adventure because when I was a kid there was none of that going on.”
