David Beckham just inked a pretty sweet deal.
In a March 30 Instagram post, Beckham unveiled his brand-new ankle tattoo, of what appears to be a pair of cherubs, running together and holding a piece of cloth.
“Always nice to sit and listen to marks conversation for 5 hours whilst watching him work,” Beckham, 40, captioned. The new ink was created by artist Mark Mahoney at his favorite haunt, Hollywood’s Shamrock Social Club.
Beckham’s no stranger to the needle — the Daily Mail reported that he already has 40 tattoos as of August 2015. Most of them have sweet meanings: The father of Harper, 4, Cruz, 11, Romeo, 13, and Brooklyn, 17 (all of whom he shares with wife Victoria Beckham) has a tattoo for every member of his brood. The former professional soccer player has “Romeo” and “Cruz” inked on his back to honor his sons. He returned to Shamrock last July for the “Pretty Lady” on his neck — the nickname for daughter Harper. In September, he added “Buster,” Brooklyn’s nickname, to the opposite side.
And instead of getting a ring finger reminder like friends Beyonce and Jay Z, Beckham tatted his thumb with a “99” — the year that he married Victoria, 41. “99 was a good year for me,” he reflected in an Instagram post last July.
