Fifty—but not a day over fabulous!
Elle Macpherson hit the start of her sixth decade this year, but you’d never guess it just by looking at her luminous spread inside Ocean Drive.
Covering the Miami-based magazine’s Nov. 2014 issue in celebration of her recent move to the Floridian city, Macpherson flaunted her ageless face and fabulous figure in Emilio Pucci, Roberto Cavalli, and Elie Saab designs, each one more glam (and revealing!) than the last.
But breathtaking beauty aside, Macpherson leads a pretty normal day-to-day life that includes driving her sons—Flynn, 16, and Cy, 11—to school every morning. There is one little snag to that, though: the super-fast Porsche she cruises in. “My 11-year-old says it makes him throw up—he can’t read his studies on the way because it’s a very, very sporty car,” she said.
One problem she clearly doesn’t have, though, is maintaining her gorgeousness as she ages—and that’s thanks to one very strong motto: “‘Beauty at every age’ is such a boring cliché, but beauty is not just reserved for youth,” Macpherson told Ocean Drive.
Which is why, the supermodel explains, she didn’t mind turning 50, either. “I didn’t feel any kind of milestone pressure turning 50 at all, perhaps because I’ve been preparing for this stage of my life for a long time,” Macpherson said. “In my 40s, I started to focus on health and wellness; I stopped drinking and taking any drugs—even aspirin—and I began really cleaning out my system. By the time I hit 50, I didn’t feel any sort of plateau physically, and it didn’t feel like a shock emotionally either. It wasn’t like,’‘Oh my gosh, I’d better get myself together before I turn 50′; it was more like I was reborn.”
