Just in time for summer, Free People has teamed up with sustainable water company and philanthropic brand Boxed Water on a limited edition carton design that is all about looking good while doing good. In addition to helping you reach your daily water goal, each picture of the colorful collab posted to social media will result in five trees being planted as part of Boxed Water’s #BetterPlanet campaign.
Founded in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in March 2009, Boxed Water began as a way to bottle H20 in a more sustainable (think: less plastic dependent) way, but its mission has only grown from there. In 2014, the company joined the 1% for the Planet initiative by pledging to give 1 percent of its revenue to eco-friendly organizations, and it followed that up a year later by the kicking off the #ReTree project with the National Forest Foundation with the goal of planting one million trees on U.S. soil within five years.
Free People, the mecca of all things boho-chic, is helping to ensure that reforestation goal becomes a reality with its summer-ready partnership. Wrapped in a vibrant, pink, orange and yellow Buti-inspired print, the collab is available in eight- and 24-packs, which means you can personally play a part in the green-minded campaign.
While Boxed Water currently plants two trees for every photo of one of their cartons posted to social media with the tag #BetterPlanet, Free People is more than doubling those efforts by planting five. Simply post your snap of the Free People x Boxed Water collab with the hashtag #BetterPlanet and @FreePeople, and then sit back and hydrate (preferably on a beach or lounging poolside) with your super stylish — and recyclable! — water box.
