Red hot! Emmy Rossum went matchy-matchy at the 73rd Golden Globes, rocking red lips and a stunning red Armani Prive dress on the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton in L.A. on Sunday, January 10.
“Emmy’s figure-hugging scarlet red gown commanded a makeup look that oozed confidence. We both fancied a matching red lip that would knock your socks off and turn heads,” celebrity makeup artist Jo Baker, who created Rossum’s look, exclusively told Us Weekly. “What keeps this classic makeup look feeling fresh on Emmy today is the simple approach and attention to detail.”
Find out how Baker pulled this look together for Rossum in only seven simple steps, below.
1. After applying Rimmel London Exaggerate Eyeshadow Primer, Baker then traced a rough eyeliner guide on each eye using Rimmel London Exaggerate Smoke n’ Shine gel liner.
2. Next, she smudged the liner deep into the lash line for a deep and dramatic base for the liquid liner.
3. Once both eyes were symmetrical and balanced, she swooped up the edges on the outer eyeliner, winging them up and out to create lift and elongate the lash line. (She used Rimmel London Scandaleyes Thick & Thin Eyeliner.)
4. After lining the eyes, Baker added drama to the lashes with Rimmel London Supercurler Mascara.
5. Now that the eyes were done, she applied primer to her face before adding liquid foundation.
6. She added a hint of blush to the apples of Rossum’s cheeks, and maintained her brows with a clear brow gel.
7. For the grand finale, Baker used the high-pigmented The Only 1 lipstick in Best of the Best by Rimmel London.
