Who needs a bra anyway?
This was probably the question Gwyneth Paltrow asked herself before bolting out the door to attend the premiere of her new film, Mortdecai on Wednesday, Jan. 21, in Los Angeles. The Goop founder, 42, fearlessly served side boob action in her soft blue Lanvin gown on the red carpet.
The regal dress from the design house of Alber Elbaz featured a thick leather belt, two thigh-high slits, and a crisscross back — providing interest from all angles. Paltrow wore her hair, styled by David Babaii, sleek and straight and added green and black statement earrings for more pizzazz. And for makeup, she amped up the glamour. “I wanted to go for something a little more dramatic so I chose a chocolate brown soft smoke around the eye, a rose-bronze cheek, and beautiful nude lip,” Chanel celebrity makeup artist Kate Lee told Us Weekly.
At the premiere, Paltrow told Us how it felt to play Johanna, Johnny Depp‘s glamorous wife in the movie. “Johanna just kind of jumped off the page when I read it,” she said. “She’s a very specific aristocratic English woman, very quick and bright and funny. So I was excited to play her.”
Paltrow also shed light on her interview with Howard Stern, where she spoke about her famous friends including Jay Z and Beyonce — and her thoughts on her ex-husband Chris Martin’s relationship with Jennifer Lawrence.
“I feel like doing the interview with Howard was nice because I just got to be myself,” she said. “Normally you do an interview and you can’t really sit down and relax. He’s such a thoughtful interviewer, he does so much research and it was nice to just be able to be myself and in my real life, I’m quite cheeky.”
