Not-so-hairy, Styles? The One Direction band member just posted photographic evidence of a jaw-dropping makeover via Instagram on Friday, May 6.

Styles, 22, has sported chin-length or longer hair, often in ponytails or man buns, since the group was formed in 2010. Until his cut, his tresses were his longest yet, reaching well below his shoulders. While it's unclear as of now just how much length he lost, his pic and caption reveal it's enough to donate to charity.

"Whoops. #Littleprincesstrust," he wrote alongside the snap, which shows his sheared-off locks in a ponytail that looks to be about nine inches long. Little Princess Trust happens to be the name of a U.K.-based nonprofit that makes wigs for children in need, due to cancer and other diseases.

The fresh cut is actually a long time coming. In an August 2015 appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, host Corden asked, "When's [the hair-growing] going to stop? What style is the next, Styles?" To which the "Infinity" singer responded by pointing to his chest. His goal, he admitted, was to grow the nine inches required for donation.
