It’s time to break out of your smoky eye comfort zone. But that doesn’t mean you have to go to the bright side of the rainbow like Gigi Hadid; Tessa Thompson just wore a fresh take on the classic makeup.
The Creed actress, 32, rocked a metallic, smoked-out look that enhanced her brown eyes and amped up her glam factor at the Hollywood Reporter and Jimmy Choo’s 25 Most Powerful Stylists dinner in L.A. on March 15.
“The makeup was inspired by the colors and textures in Tessa’s amazing Rebecca de Revenal earrings and flowers on her Jimmy Choos!” celeb makeup artist Kirin Bhatty exclusively told Us Weekly.
To achieve Thompson’s antique metal vibe, Bhatty used the NARS Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in Skorpios (below, left) as her all-over lid base. Next, she applied Tom Ford Metallic Mink Eye Defining Pencil (below, second from the left) onto the upper and lower lash lines, smudging liberally.

“I then built the look with NARS Cordura Eyeshadow Duo (above, middle),” Bhatty tells Us. “I took the bronzy color from the duo into the crease, and then the deeper chocolate tone as a smudgy, shadowy liner over the already smudged Tom Ford liner.”
She followed up with two generous coats of Dior’s Iconic Overcurl Mascara (above, second from the right) and finished by further defining the eyes with Dior’s Waterproof Eyeliner in Trinidad Black (above, right).
