Mikayla Nogueira is “sick and tired” of people scrutinizing her photos.
“I have seen so many videos of this comparison of these two photos,” the influencer, 28, said via TikTok on Monday, September 28, while showing a side-by-side of herself in front of a ring light vs. at an event. “People are going out of their way to find the worst possible snapshot and then comparing it to the best possible snapshot of me and saying that I am using face-altering or skin-blurring filters to deceive my audience.”
Nogueira said that she wasn’t planning on discussing the topic again, but felt compelled to after people started a conversation on how her side-by-side photographs could affect young girls and their body image. She then showed other unedited images from the “same exact day where [she looks] like the same exact person.”
“What you’ll notice is I look exactly like the person in my videos,” she said. “I don’t filter my videos. Am I filming with a light? Yeah! Every beauty influencer uses light.”

“I have openly defended this so many times because I am exhausted by it,” Nogueira added. “I don’t use any form of beauty mode whatsoever. The problem I have with this is going out of your way to take this image where I look not great, and then putting it next to an image where I look great and saying that I’m deceiving young girls. The problem is you.”
Nogueira added that she’s “done” with the accusations, especially regarding claims she’s perpetuating an unachievable and unhealthy beauty standard.
“I am doing nothing wrong,” she said. “This is what I look like. There’s nothing I can do about it. I’ve shown my side profile a million thousand times to talk about how I don’t like it, I’ve shown how I look on the back camera vs. the front, we’ve seen it. We know what I look like.”
She added that she thinks there is so much discussion around her because she’s considered a “non-attractive beauty influencer.”
“I’m a non-attractive individual,” she said, “but I made it as a beauty influencer. I don’t know if it’s a jealousy thing or what, but it’s not my problem. I just needed it to stop.”
She also called out the social media user who created the side-by-side, saying that they “know” how “insecure” she is and her struggles with “self-esteem.”
“That was one of the most disgusting comments section I’ve ever seen in my entire life but you don’t give a f***,” she said. “You were liking so many of the comments.”
Nogueira’s followers were quick to send her supportive messages in the comments section. “We ALL look different at different angles!” one wrote, while another agreed, “I look different in every photo.” A third commented, “Literally so beautiful in every angle 💗💗.”
