Us Weekly Fashion Police Slam Barack Obama’s Bike Outfit

Barack Obama may have won the Democratic presidential nomination, but he's not winning any votes for his recent fashion statement!

As Hillary Clinton suspended her campaign in a Washington, D.C. speech, Obama zoomed around Chicago over the weekend on a bike in ill-fitting jeans, a tucked in golf shirt and big tennis shoes. "Rest assured, the Obama Girl won't be singing about this!" Fashion Police judge Steve Kemble (of Extreme Makeover: Wedding Edition) told Usmagazine.com. Chimes in Dan Brickley, of TLC's A Makeover Story: "Although Hillary's made some major fashion faux pas in the past, we wouldn't see her in a pair of pegged acid washed jeans, peddling a bicycle built for two with Bill… "Yet, as far as fashion's concerned, Obama's putting function before fashion," Brickley adds. "Unfortunately, we'll all have to wait and see if Barack's helmet can stand up against Cindy McCain's hair helmet this November ”Now that's not a headpiece to mess with!"

Kemble has another suggestion for Obama: "He should consider hiring Lance Armstrong as his stylist! "I veto this suburban dad look!" adds Kemble. But: "This confirms the primary is done, otherwise this would be a bicycle built for two!" he says. But not everyone was ready to write Obama a fashion ticket. "For a weekend out with the kids, I think he looks great," Tim Gunn told the New York Daily News Tuesday. "I give him a B-plus." Adds Us Fashion Director Sasha Charnin Morrison: "It's not an Obamination." Obama isn't the first politician to have his style dissected. Clinton joked on the David Letterman show that she loved shopping online 24/7 for her pantsuits, and Al Gore took heat in 2000 for shifting his wardrobe to earth tones on the advice of an image consultant.
