He was a shoe-in! Jack Huston is the new face of Tod’s autumn and winter campaign. The star of the upcoming Ben-Hur, 33, will grace advertisements around the world.
“I love Tod’s products. They’re outstanding, and it has been a pleasure to work with them,” Huston, who’s the grandson of director John Huston and the nephew of Anjelica Huston, said in a July 27 press release.
The partnership is more than just business, though. The Boardwalk Empire actor, who’s one-quarter Italian, has cultural ties to the brand. “I love the food, culture and people in Italy,” Huston continued. “I spent six months filming [Ben Hur] there last year, and my family all fell in love. I’d love to end up in Italy rather soon and call it home. It’s magical.”
In May, Huston returned to the country to shoot the campaign, captured by British photographer Tom Craig. The photos “perfectly capture the Italian lifestyle” according to the release. Indeed, Huston dons a few fashion-forward looks in the images, including a tan leather jacket and a sleek charcoal gray suit, both styled with Tod’s loafers.
Huston was announced as the lead of the action film Ben Hur, directed by Timur Bekmambetov, in September 2014. The remake of the 1959 classic, starring Charlton Heston, is Huston’s biggest role yet. The star, who plays a Jewish prince of Jerusalem, opened up about the, umm, pains of filming fast-paced chariot scenes in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
“It’s like Nascar,” Huston said. “The first day, you’re completely convinced you’re going to die. That’s why you use leather. So you don’t shred off your privates.”
Huston’s news comes on the heels of another big accomplishment this year. He and his longtime partner, Shannan Click, welcomed their second child in January, Cypress Night Huston.
