January Jones: Why I Got Rose Gold Highlights

Taking a cue from Pink, Ashley Tisdale and Lauren Conrad, January Jones is the latest star to think pink with her hair.

On Tuesday, the Mad Men actress, 34, debuted subtle colored streaks throughout her shoulder-length blonde bob.

"I asked [my colorist Jennifer J. at Juan Juan salon] to do highlights, and we decided to go with rose gold to class it up a bit!" Jones told Us Weekly at the Mad Men season 5 premiere Thursday.

Her colorist J. told Us, "I used Wella Professionals — it's rose gold, not pink! I custom blended it especially for her at her house. She trusts me so when I told her about it, she was game."

"I suggested it because I saw it was a trend on the runway and I knew she could pull it off," J. added, referencing the pastel hair streaks at Peter Som's runway show and the bright neon highlights on models on Betsey Johnson's catwalk during New York Fashion Week's Spring 2012 shows.

And while her new color may be subtle, her favorite spring fashion must is not as delicate-looking.

"I've been looking at all of the [runway] shows and I know it's not for spring, but I'm really into leather — leather pants ," Jones explained.
