Sultry nude lips and tonal beauty looks may have been all the rage at the 2018 CFDA Awards held on Monday, June 4, but it was the bold and bright beauty looks worn by Gigi Hadid and Jasmine Sanders that stole the show.
Hadid, who is known for her sculpted and neutral looks, opted for a nearly neon vivid red lip courtesy of celebrity makeup artist Erin Parsons to complement her technicolor Atelier Versace catsuit, while Jasmine Sanders went for it with a next level cobalt eye created by celeb beauty guru Hung Vanngo. The verdict: when in doubt, make a statement with a bright beauty look.
Gigi’s look (as a whole) was uber colorful, so Parsons masterfully created a beauty vibe that was balanced and perfectly complementary. While the supermodel’s baby blues were framed mostly by fluffy lashes (she went light on the eye makeup), her perfect pout was the star of the show. To get the almost-neon shade of red echoed in Hadid’s catsuit, Parsons applied Maybelline Superstay Ink in Heroine. And of course, she kept the skin glowing and natural too.
Sanders’ look was bold, but centered around the eyes. Hung masterfully concocted a dramatic winged eyes filled with bright blue hues that mimicked the insanely gorgeous color of Sanders’ peepers. Luckily, Vanngo shared the exact product concoction he used to create the major statement. He started by layering the Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye-conic Smartorial Palette’s cool shades as a base. Then he layered the electric bright Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon in Out of the Blue, creating a dramatic wing connecting the model’s lower and upper lashes. To finish: Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara. And the finishing effect: a mesmerizing and unexpected gaze.
