Jennifer Hudson showed off her curves at the Songwriters Hall of Fame 47th Annual Induction in New York City on Thursday, June 9. While honoring Lionel Richie, the “I Still Love You” singer, 34, nearly stole the show in her sexy black dress.
Hudson wowed in Kaufmanfranco’s body-hugging black gown with a plunging V-neck and a thigh-high split that helped display her strappy black sandals and matching black pedicure. But those weren’t the only places she showed skin — cutouts graced both sides of the statement piece. Silver drop earrings, bracelets and, of course, her Neil Lane engagement ring from fiancé David Ortunga made the Hairspray Live! star sparkle brighter. She styled her short locks in 20s-style finger waves and added a pop of color with purple lipstick.
“Jennifer hudson one day Future songwriters hall of fame inductee ! I’m speaking this into existence, yal . In Jesus name we pray amen !” she captioned an Instagram post that night.
Just call the mom of 5-year-old David Jr. a creature of habit. At the June 6 CFDA Fashion Awards 2016, she wore another black gown on the red carpet. Her strapless Prabal Gurung crepe gown was covered with crimson sculptural insets. But during her Prince tribute, she slayed in a custom Kaufmanfranco jumpsuit covered in 1.9 million crystals.
