Red-dy or not, here she comes! Jessica Alba isn’t shying away from the color red at Paris Fashion Week 2016. The Mechanic: Resurrection star, 35, went bold in two looks at the Valentino Spring/Summer 2017 show and afterparty on Sunday, October 2.
For the show, held at the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild, Alba tucked a light blue and white pinstriped bell-sleeve button-down speckled with black feather motifs into a semi-sheer crimson midi skirt. She added some edge to the ensemble with leather accessories: a black Rockstud Medium Quilted Leather Chain Shoulder Bag and black Love Latch booties with five grommeted straps. “Feeling super-chic in this gorgeous Valentino look from Resort 2017,” she said of her look in an October 2 Vogue post.
Alba, who sat in the front row with Valentino Garavani and Anna Wintour, explained the inspiration behind her beauty look for the day, achieved by makeup artist Daniel Martin and hairstylist Jennifer Yepez, in the same story. “Tonight’s makeup was all about vintage glamour. The bold red lip and waved hair was right in the spirit of the ’50s Americana-inspired look. An American in Paris—so classic!” Alba, who also Snapchatted for the fashion magazine, at the show noted.
At the afterparty, Alba turned the color all the way up. She switched her separates for a deep V-neck, wide-sleeved printed red maxi dress from the Spring/Summer 2017 collection that exuded beach vibes. But instead of flip-flops and a straw hat, she kept things high fashion with the accessories she wore during the show.
