Extra-blonde bride!

For Jessica Simpson's much-anticipated wedding to Eric Johnson on July 5th at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, Calif., the bride amped up her blonde hair color, courtesy of longtime colorist Rita Hazan.

"I prepped her hair six months in advance to coordinate timing for the wedding, making sure that I did her color a few days before," Hazan tells Us Weekly. "Since it was a summer wedding, we wanted the color to be a paler, more natural-looking blonde."

In fact, the inspiration for her hue was Simpson's 2-year-old daughter (and flower girl!), Maxwell. "I wanted her hair to be timeless so the color was more of a baby blonde, which matches Maxwell's color, with subtle highlights that blend into her hair so her pictures would be timeless and beautiful," Hazan tells Us, adding that the bride, 34, used Hazan's Breaking Brass gloss with every shampoo for maintenance.

With her perfect bright blonde color, Simpson, who dazzled in a custom Carolina Herrera gown, wore her hair in a half-up, half-down hairstyle with loads of volume and loose waves.
