There’s no question both Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton picked absolutely stunning gowns for their weddings to princes. In fact, we’d say they’ll both go down as two of the all-time best. Could you even choose a favorite between the two? That’s the tough task we’re putting in front of you in this head-to-head poll below!
First up, we have Markle’s sleek boatneck gown by Claire Waight Keller for the French design house Givenchy for her wedding to Prince Harry on May 19. Crafted from an exclusive double-bonded silk cady with a matte finish, it showed off her shoulders beautifully and had a contemporary feel that fits the bride’s overall refined bur low-key style. It made a statement about how she intends to both honor tradition while staying true to herself.
Middelton, on the other hand, went more romantic with a lace Alexander McQueen gown for her wedding to Prince William on April 29, 2011. The crowd-pleaser featured an ivory satin bodice and a flattering V-shaped neckline and — mostly importantly — it was crafted to exaggerate her narrow waist with slight padding at the hips (a nod to the Victorian tradition of corsetry). It was just the kind of dress you dream about taking a royal title in.
Two tough contenders — who wins in the race for the top place in your heart? Vote now. And in the meantime, remember, when stylish royals get married in gowns that count as beautiful works of art, everyone wins.
