It made a statement about how she intends to both honor tradition while staying true to herself.
Middelton, on the other hand, went more romantic with a lace Alexander McQueen gown for her wedding to Prince William on April 29, 2011. The crowd-pleaser featured an ivory satin bodice and a flattering V-shaped neckline and — mostly importantly — it was crafted to exaggerate her narrow waist with slight padding at the hips (a nod to the Victorian tradition of corsetry).
