The duchess’ new ‘do! Kate Middleton modeled a fresh take on her half-up, half-down hairstyle during a full day of appearances on Wednesday, May 4, in London.
Typically, when the Duchess of Cambridge, 34, wears the pulled-back look, she joins the hair in a miniature bun or ponytail at the crown of her head. But this time, she simply pinned each twisted section above her ears, letting the ends curl up and frame her face.
While Middleton experimented with her famous brunette tresses, the mom to Prince George, 2, and Princess Charlotte, 1, pulled two tried-and-true pieces from her closet for the occasion: a sapphire Michael Kors dress coat (which she debuted in 2014) and a draped Roksanda dress (first worn in 2012).

She finished with her favorite nude L.K.Bennett pumps and the brand-new Nina clutch from the label (not yet in stores, but there’s already a waiting list!).

The royal wore the style for three engagements on May 4: She opened a children’s garden, then headed to lunch at the Anna Freud Centre and finally, was scheduled to finish the day at the National Portrait Gallery, where her portraits from British Vogue‘s centennial issue are on display.
