Visions of Orlando Bloom‘s ripped body, stripped down to nothing during his romantic Sardinia, Italy, getaway with Katy Perry on Wednesday, August 3, might still be fresh in your mind. But Perry’s gritty music video for her song “Rise” could make you forget about that (for a second).
The “Roar” singer, 31, rocks a post-apocalyptic charcoal and taupe bodysuit throughout her latest release, which NBC chose as the official theme song of its 2016 Olympic Games coverage. She pairs the versatile garment (the video proves it performs in both extremely dry heat and submerged in water) with Sorel’s combat-inspired Major Carly Boots ($160, sorel.com). Clipped to her belt the entire time is a massive pink parachute, the weight of which pulls her back and drags her down.

Perry demonstrates extreme perseverance in the clip, not giving up despite wandering in the desert’s beating sun, scrapes and scratches on her face and hands, and nearly drowning in a lake. “Through the blood, sweat (lots of it), and tears, we keep rising,” she tweeted about the video when it premiered on Thursday, August 4.

Later, responding to a tweet about how many times she nearly dies in the video, she wrote, “It’s that Phoenix in me ♏️.”

Perry and her boyfriend of six months, Bloom, have also risen above the attention on the Lord of the Ring‘s star’s naked paddleboarding pictures, a source tells Us Weekly. “[Bloom] finds the whole thing amusing,” the insider says. The Pirates of the Caribbean alum even joked that the New York Daily News got the rectangle the right size, referencing the publication’s large black box, which censored his whole downstairs region.

Although the pop star chose not to ditch her clothing during the beach session, the source tells Us she’s not bothered by her beau’s decision to take it all off. “This isn’t something that would annoy her,” the source adds.
