She may be known for her sunny blonde locks, but on Tuesday, June 9, Kelly Ripa hopped on Instagram to reveal a total hair makeover: The Live! host is now rocking bright pink hair!
Ripa, 44, snapped and shared a close-up shot of her freshly dyed tresses via the social media site, then added a shout-out to her colorist, the Sally Hershberger Salon’s Ryan Trygstad. “For the love of P!NK @ryantrygstadhair you are boss,” she wrote, complete with a string of rose-colored emojis.
In response, Trygstad re-grammed her photo, plus added one of his own featuring the All My Children alum standing in front of a wall of cherry blossoms. “@kellyripa never stop playing!” he wrote, adding eight heart-shaped emojis for good measure.
The next day, while hosting Live! With Kelly and Michael, Ripa explained her bold choice. “They call me Pinky Galore!” she started with a laugh. “Every time I get ready to go on vacation, I dye my hair a different color. Usually, it washes out—and this will wash out, I just haven’t washed my hair yet. But it’s part of my tradition. I like to have fun hair for two weeks.”
Joking about her signature shade, Mrs. Mark Consuelos added, “I’ve had the same color hair for… Oh, I don’t know! Six months at least? That’s a long time for me. So I went pink.” Watch more here:
