Keeping it real! Kim Kardashian has been very transparent about her postbaby weight loss program since giving birth to her second child, Saint, 8 months, in December. She has shared her entire diet, gym routine and progress on the scale with fans via social media (she’s now only four pounds away from her goal weight of 120, by the way). On Thursday, August 11, she showed another side of her journey when she Snapchatted her tummy tuck procedure for all to see.
Kardashian, 35, went to her favorite cosmetic dermatologist, Dr. Simon Ourian of Epione in Beverly Hills, for the procedure. He later explained that the process doesn’t use any knives or needles.
Straight from the chair, the Kimoji creator winced through minor pain to say, “You guys I’m at Dr. Ourian’s — skin tightening,” adding a hashtag in the caption that read, “#hatehimnowlovehimlater.”
Ourian, who also treats Jenna Dewan Tatum and Kim Zolciak-Beirmann, took to Instagram afterward to show the video to his followers, writing, “#skintightening #nonsurgical #tummytuck,” by way of explanation.
The Epione website, however, delves a little deeper. “[Skin tightening] is not particularly invasive and doesn’t require surgery. The collagen layer of the skin is heated up so that the skin contracts under the laser’s effects. The tightening of the skin is noticeable right away,” the site reads. “It tightens even more over a two-month period of time. It is recommended that you have around two treatments done about one month apart from one another.”
It’s not just for tummies, either. Skin tightening can be done on sagging eyes and around the neck too. “This kind of skin procedure results in tighter, more toned skin. It does not remove any excess skin but instead fills out the skin better with collagen,” the site notes. “Recovery time is nominal and you can go back to your regular actives shortly after you have the procedure done.”
