A Paris judicial police official confirmed to Us Weekly that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 35, was tied up and locked in her Hôtel de Pourtalès bathroom as a group of men dressed as police officers stole two iPhones and more than $10 million worth of jewelry from her room.
An insider tells Us Weekly that one of Kardashian’s enormous Lorraine Schwartz rings was among the pieces that the thieves took off with. She already had a 15-carat bauble (from Kanye West’s October 2013 proposal) — and West gifted her with an emerald-cut rock in time for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. According to a separate source, that ring cashes in at an estimated $10 million. On September 29, the gaming mogul, then taking in Paris Fashion Week, shared a selfie which prominently showed the sparkler, her Dolly Cohen gold and diamond grills.
Fans were clued in to Kardashian’s frightening ordeal after West stopped his set at the Meadows Festival in Queens, New York, on Sunday, October 2. "I'm sorry, I have a family emergency. I have to stop the show," he said in the middle of his 2008 hit "Heartless,” rushing off the stage.
Shortly following West’s abrupt exit, Kardashian’s rep confirmed the news to Us in a statement. “Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening,” it read. “She is badly shaken but physically unharmed.”
The next morning, West met his wife at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, and they then headed to their Manhattan apartment in a 15-car motorcade.
