No you didn’t, Mama Bell! Kristen Bell confessed on The Late Late Show with James Corden that her mother once gave her a mullet — and she brought the photographic evidence to prove it.
The Good Place actress, 36, shared an adorable snap of her childhood self with a cropped ‘do up front and long strands in the back. “I was pretty scrappy [as a kid],” the Michigan native told James Corden, 38, on Wednesday, September 21, explaining that she was on the local baseball team. And to make sure she “would not take any flak from anybody,” her mom, Lorelei, went snipping.
The result? “A real disastrous sort of haircut,” said Bell. “[She] took the bangs past the ear, past the forehead, past the ear, all the way down to the back, which I believe we now call a mullet,” the Frozen star said. While her fellow guest Ellen Pompeo called the pic “adorable,” Corden quipped, “She’s basically made you look like the kid from Jerry Maguire!”
The mom of two — Lincoln, 3, and Delta, 21 months, with Dax Shepard — also dished on her new NBC show, The Good Place, in which she costars with Ted Danson. “It takes place in the afterlife, and it’s basically about a clerical error — a jerk [played by Bell] who gets into ‘the good place,'” she explained.
Bell continued, “I have to hide my identity, and I am basically forced to learn how to be ethical. And every time I act like myself, which is a fairly selfish individual, things start to malfunction.”
Tune in to The Good Place on NBC on Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. EST.
