Kristen Stewart didn’t let a Cannes Film Festival dress code rule stop her from showing off some skin.
Stewart, 36, went against protocol and wore a sheer top at the Full Phil photocall during the festival on Saturday, May 16. For the event, she went braless underneath a Chanel blouse featuring a plunging neckline, a relaxed collar and delicate pockets. The actress styled the number with a see-through gray skirt that exposed her micro shorts.
Stewart’s sexy look comes after the festival banned naked dresses. According to the official website, “For decency reasons, nudity is prohibited on the Red Carpet, as well as in any other area of the Festival.”
Cannes also banned “voluminous outfits, in particular those with a large train, that hinder the proper flow of traffic of guests and complicate seating in the theater, are not permitted.” In order to ensure that stars aren’t wearing naked or voluminous looks, the “welcoming teams will be obligated to prohibit Red Carpet access to anyone not respecting these rules.” The site continued, “For all other screenings, proper attire is sufficient.”
Stewart may have been on thin ice again when she delivered drama that night in a red-and-black Chanel gown featuring a boat neckline and crochet details that exposed her black bra and high-waisted underwear. She accessorized with a red ribbon Chanel watch and a diamond star ring.
She broke another one of Cannes’ unofficial rules by wearing Ruby Brown sneakers instead of heels. Attendees are permitted to wear “elegant” shoes or sandals, with or without a heel.
For glam, Stewart looked gorgeous with a full beat. She donned dewy skin, filled-in eyebrows, brown eyeshadow that was blended out to her crease, bronzed cheeks and long lashes. She perfectly matched her dress to her red lips. Stewart tied her look together with her brunette hair styled in an updo.
