Born in Los Angeles on April 9, 1990, Kristen Stewart came from a show business family and started her acting career at 8 years old. The young talent took on small roles before landing the role of Jodie Foster’s daughter in the 2002 thriller Panic Room.
A stream of moderately successful films followed, but it was not until she was cast as the lead female in Twilight’s film adaptation that she truly put Hollywood on notice. Starring as Bella Swan in the five-part film saga from 2008 to 2012, Stewart was named the highest-paid actress in 2012 with earnings of $34.5 million, according to Forbes.
The actress continued to land major roles after her final Twilight Saga movie, playing Snow White in 2012’s Snow White & the Huntsman and earning critical acclaim for her roles in 2014’s Camp X-Ray, Clouds of Sils Maria and Still Alice, as well as 2015’s Anesthesia and Equals.
Stewart faced controversy in her dating life after cheating on her boyfriend, Twilight costar Robert Pattinson, in July 2012 with Snow White & the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, who is 19 years her senior and, at the time, was a married father-of-two. Stewart has since dated Stephanie “Soko” Sokolinski for a few months in 2016 and is in an on-again, off-again relationship with film producer Alicia Cargile.
