Proving there is no limit to how far some couples will go for a one-of-a-kind engagement story, a Miami man proposed to his girlfriend last week with not one but six diamond engagement rings so she could choose her favorite one.
Model and former pro athlete Dennis Brown II hired a stylist, photographer, florist and drapery designer as well as an event planner (naturally) to create the perfect proposal for his soon-to-be-fiancée Atara Dallas — right down to six fingers worth of engagement rings for her to ooh and ahh over.
“I didn’t win #6 rings like [Michael Jordan],” Brown captioned an Instagram post showing off pics of the epic proposal, “but I won at life with her, so she deserves #6 rings to choose from.”
The diamond sparklers varied in shape and size, with square, round, emerald and tear drop cuts for her to choose from. Ultimately, Dallas, who was outfitted in a glamorous burgundy velvet gown for the occasion, selected the tear drop design, which featured a large center stone with a halo of diamonds surrounding it and thin band.
In addition to the bevy of bling, Brown also arranged for the room to be filled with red roses and drapes and even a floor-to-ceiling scroll inscribed with a love letter to his future bride.
“A woman who single-handedly made me believe that a soulmate, a lover, a prayer warrior, a confidant and a best friend could be wrapped up in one amazingly beautiful soul that was handcrafted for me,” he wrote in part. “That’s why today I wanted to give you the greatest gift that I could ever give you … my heart and soul completely, unwavering and all yours … will you accept and hold my hand in yours through this journey?”
On her own Instagram, Dallas posted several pictures of her fiancé and enormous sparkler, writing that the day was “perfection” and she’d like to “have this moment for life.”
So while we’re not convinced the whole multi-ring engagement idea will take hold, Brown’s six diamond rings might just change the lyrics to the “12 Days of Christmas” from five golden rings to six diamond ones.
